The upgrade included integrating a third-party API to improve e-commerce features like product catalogs, shopping carts, and checkout processes. We also integrated a premium sandbox theme and developed a custom pay link feature that pre-fills customer information and includes expiration dates for added security.
The site is now mobile-friendly, faster, and more scalable, providing a secure and efficient platform for Wordfast’s evolving needs.
Founded in 1999 by Yves Champollion, Wordfast is a global leader in translation memory software, offering solutions like Wordfast Anywhere, Wordfast Classic, Wordfast Pro, and Wordfast Server. The company caters to individual translators, language service providers, corporations, and educational institutions worldwide. They focus on reducing translation time and costs, enhancing efficiency and accuracy for users.

The main goal of the project was to upgrade Wordfast’s website from Drupal 6 to Drupal 10. This upgrade was essential to improve security, speed, and overall performance. With newer technology, we ensured the website would function better, be easier to manage, and be ready for future growth.
A key objective was to enhance the shopping experience for customers purchasing Wordfast's software. We focused on making the product catalog easier to browse, the shopping cart more user-friendly, and the checkout process faster and more secure. To achieve this, we integrated the Drupal Commerce module to streamline e-commerce features efficiently. We also added secure payment gateways like PayPal and Stripe to ensure safe transactions.
Another important goal was to develop a custom pay link feature, allowing users to complete payments quickly with pre-filled details. Ultimately, the project aimed to create a modern, secure, and user-friendly website that supports Wordfast’s current and future needs.
A major challenge was migrating data from Drupal 6 to Drupal 10 while ensuring all custom features worked as expected. We needed to update outdated modules and custom tools that wouldn’t be compatible with the new system. Ensuring seamless functionality for e-commerce features, including the payment process, required careful planning. The integration of a third-party API added complexity, especially with the custom pay link feature. Thorough testing was required to maintain the integrity of the website throughout the migration.
