Accounts process automation using Robotics (RPA) for Dabur

Client Brief

Dabur approached us to optimize their accounts process system using Robotic Process Automation (RPA). With a 140-year legacy, Dabur offers over 250 herbal and ayurvedic products and operates in 120 countries. As a top brand in the FMCG sector, Dabur continuously seeks innovative ways to enhance its operational efficiency.

Our Endeavor

Dabur had an existing RPA system for accounting but faced issues with low success rates and pending tasks. They asked us to enhance their RPA framework for better performance, faster processing, and increased reliability, which we did using UiPath.

We began by analyzing their current RPA system to identify areas for improvement. Our focus was on streamlining invoice extraction from SAP, automating data processing, and eliminating manual tasks. This involved automating pending tasks to create a more efficient workflow.

Major challenge was handling diverse invoice formats from both domestic and international vendors, including multi-currency invoices. We used ABBYY OCR to train the system for accurate data extraction from each format. The data was then processed by UiPath BOTs for validation and entry into SAP. We fine-tuned UiPath automation to handle complex tasks like multi-currency invoices and SAP workflows with dependencies. The system was designed for scalability and smooth integration with Dabur’s infrastructure. We conducted rigorous testing to ensure accuracy, performance, and integration compatibility.

After deployment, we implemented a monitoring system to track automation performance. This included real-time dashboards, error alerts, and ongoing support. As a result, Dabur's automation success rate increased to 70%, reducing manual intervention. Invoice processing became faster and more accurate, allowing Dabur to handle higher transaction volumes and reduce errors. The enhanced RPA system is now capable of adapting to future challenges. Its flexibility ensures that Dabur can incorporate additional workflows and manage diverse accounting needs as their business evolves.
