Dot Net Website 'Intranet Blog' – Blog/News
Posting Platform
Client Brief
The client approached us with a requirement to develop an Intranet based blog that would work on client's own network and would be accessible in a closed environment.
Our Endeavor
The blog we have developed enables the users to view the posts available on different categories; while the admin of the site can post blogs. User can post comments on the post or can reply on previously made comments. They can even like the comments made on specific posts. This blog is based on the general concept of posts. There are different categories available on the blog, and each category can have multiple blogs - and within each blog there are many posts.
A wide variety of categories is available on the blog, starting from development and coding, to social media posts or even personal views. The admin of the site is able to perform a number of tasks like: add, delete and edit operation on the category, blog and their posts. The admin can also define the settings for the blogs such as the blog duration; that is for how much time this blog will be visible to the users, users will be able to make comments on the posts or not, send email when new post is added to the blog etc.
We have devised a wide variety of high level blog information screen which contains different blogs and posts and post can be viewed by latest post, popular posts, archive post, tags and also by latest comments on the posts. A search functionality has also been made available for the users so that they can search any post by entering the title of the post. There is also a link available at the bottom of the screen saying - “Older Entries”. This link allows users to continue to scroll through all posts in reverse chronological order. If users click on this link, the next screen presented will show links for “Older Entries”.
Client wanted us to represent the center of the screen that provides the latest posts from this blog and each post will contain the title of the post, author's name, date on which the post was made live, number of comments, post text, the category it is posted in and an option to leave a comment.
Admin can also review the posts which are submitted by the users. Admin can publish or decline the post from other users. Client also wanted us to develop an option for the comments where all the comments will be displayed, and admin can perform the publish or decline operations on those comments. Admin can also make comments on those comments which will be display to all users.
Currently this blog is executed on an Intranet network. It will be in reach of only those people who work in that organization. We have Implemented the all fuctionalities that were in requisite list of the client.
