Website for 'Vaughan Supremacy' Using Dot Net – Online Quiz Game

Client Brief

The client approached us with his existing site which extends a platform for online quizzing. He wanted us to rectify the follies and make it flawless.

Our Endeavor

Vaughan Supremacy is an online quiz game formulated by the University of Western Sydney. This is brain child of professor Vaughan Macefield. This was an innovative project to work on. We have regenerated Flash and business layer code to get all the functionality intact in accordance to the existing website. The admin manages the questions/answers which get displayed on the frontend. We have also implemented a SMS API for sending the SMS to users. We have developed few web services for the site so that it can help the users to take up the quiz with ease.

Web services have been developed to:

• Fetch the random question for a particular difficulty and question into the frontend screen.
• Save the user’s registration information into the database and would send the verification link to their provided email address.
• Activate a customer account when the user would click on the verification link.
• Recover the user’s password.
• Save the customer login details into the database.
• Reset the user’s password to a new password.
• Resend a verification SMS to the customer.
• Start and end a user session for playing quiz.
• Fetch the answers provided by the users into the database.
• Display the leader board scores listing on the frontend fetched from the database.
• Display the list of postcodes fetched from the database.
• Send an email to a friend.
• Fetch the user’s stats into the frontend from the database.
• Display the list of pin code into the frontend fetched from the database.
• Scores of quiz question would be exported to CMS that will be used in reporting (most likely as .xls as per supplied example report).
• Display videos on the frontend. Videos would be displayed on a random basis so that users would be able to see different videos each time they play the game.
• The video would be displayed once the question completes and there would be an option to skip video.
