Development of A Magento Store for Selling Beauty Products

Client Brief

The client told us to develop a shopping cart site for him, using Magento. He wanted to portray and sell women beauty products and was intended to convert his visitors into subscribers. His website also demanded profound administrative abilities.

Our Endeavor

It is an online store where women can find all the solutions to their beauty needs. We have used Magento technology to develop this shopping cart. The site is meant for three types of users: Visitors, Registered Users and Administrator.

Visitors: Visitors are allowed to navigate through all the publically available pages on the site. The main focus is to entice the visitors to view the products listings, products details with images. In case a user tries to buy any product without registering, the system will prompt her to register while checking out. Once a visitor registers herself with the site, a certain number of tokens would be added to her account. Users would be able to avail USD 10 discount against every 100 tokens.

Registered Users: Registered users can sign up to the website using their log-in credentials. Changing and retrieving forgotten password is easy here. Every registered user needs to create a beauty profile. There are some predefined question a new customer would need to answer to understand their skin tone, hair type and color. Registered users can also view the blog section and comment on any of the posts they like. 

Administrator: The hidden admin panel is only visible to the site administrator. He/she can log into the account using the predefined log-in credentials. The admin of the site can perform the following tasks:

• Manage registered users and subscribed users
• Manage memberships
• Manage products
• Manage categories
• Add survey question and answer
• Manage visitors that buy products as guests
• Manage view tokens earned by the registered users and subscribed users
• Manage recent sample product images, description and demo video

The admin can add/edit/delete brands/partners of the site. A separate data entry panel has been made enabling the admin to upload descriptions of the brands/partners, manage orders and view payment history. All the content and extensions are manageable from the admin panel.

Additionally we have integrated the new theme and third party extensions like “Customer Survey”, “Reward Points” and “Blog section”. To make it a flawless shopping cart extensions like brand/partners, job and social icon have been created as well as integrated.
