The client approached us with a requirement of developing a website directory that allows parents of school-aged children to search for after-school activities in their local area.
Active Kid Directory is an online directory developed with an idea to help the parents of school going children to look for suitable after school activities for their kids in their local area. These activities are grouped into 4 main categories: Athletic, Educational, Arts and Humanitarian. The admin of the site can add/defined/maintain sub-categories under these main categories. (For example, in Athletic main category, sub-categories might include Tennis, Football, etc.)
The admin of the website needs to enter the required or upload listings of Activity Providers in CSV format. Activity Providers (business owners) can also enter their own profile on the site detailing their services. Paying subscribers can enter/view reviews on each Activity Provider and can access Experts to ask questions on activities.
The PSDs were shared by the client and the team converted them into HTML confirming to latest standard of HTML 5 for responsive website design. Different modules of the application were developed using Zend MVC framework having a very robust modular architecture with loosely coupled system.
We have created a number of modules like Export Module, Activity Provider Module, Subscriber Module, Admin module. The modules have various web forms and pages for different functionality of the website. Each page also has a mobile version.
