Enhancing a Joomla Based Website and a WordPress based Blog

Client Brief

This project involved maintenance of an existing website and a blog. The website is built with Joomla framework and the blog is built in WordPress. we have complete the following task on the website.

Our Endeavor

Turnkey-office.com is an online face of a consulting firm. The website is built in Joomla and there is also a WordPress based blog; both running on a single domain. For the Joomla based website we have implemented a social share plugin and an AJAX based module for displaying articles. For blog - we have worked on a couple of enhancements, such as ability for users to subscribe for newsletters, ability to setup newsletter templates based on category, social share plugin, customized RSS feed subscription, etc. We have also developed a tag cloud feature as well for the blog.

Additionally, we have taken up the following endeavors to help the website to work better:

• Upgraded to latest version of Joomla from 1.5 to 2.5.
• Redesigned the Hompage of Joomla base main website.
• Redesigned the Wordpress based blog.
• Installed K2 templates to optimize speed and user experience.
• Created pages for "TurnKey Support Services".
• Added cart functionality to "TurnKey Support Services" pages.
• Embedded the blog search functionality.
• Customized the social share plugin.
• Gone through back-end of site and deleted all pages, articles, themes, and plugins that are not actually being used.
• Customized the newsletter feature in blog website.
• Added Ajax scroller (or similar module) with latest content-relevant content to division pages.
• Fixed thumbnail image that pulls with certain URL strings are posted on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+.

Additionally, we have enabled the users to create their own account and they can view other's accounts. They can manage support service plans, add credit card details, and manage support plan manger functionality.
